I want to thank the Tamriel Rebuilt team on Discord, which helped me figure out how to properly increase skill training costs. You can even add it to a vanilla installation, if you just want to take it very slow, but of course it gives its best if you have a lot of extra contents to play. Needless to say, you DON'T ACTUALLY NEED to have Tamriel Rebuilt or any of the mods mentioned above. The purpose of it is to avoid the character becoming OP too early that it would be hard to fully enjoy all those new contents. This mod is ideal for those who have big modlists, with lots of new contents, such as Tamriel Rebuilt, Skyrim Home of the Nords, Province Cyrodiil, Wyrmhaven, The Doors of Oblivion, Havish, etc. I increased them more than just x2, because even in vanilla, the costs seemed too low to me, so I increased it further but just a little. This simple little plugin slows the skill leveling speed, and so of course also the character leveling speed in its totality, by 1/2.Īlso, in order to keep the gameplay balanced and consistent, I also tweaked the skill training costs, increasing them by more than twice ( x2.3).

Mod Organizer has pretty much been essential for me since I first used it to mod Skyrim back in 2015, so this added difficulty keeps the Steam version from being worth all the trouble.
